The Craven Accordion Orchestra was recently honoured to host a concert at the Glusburn Institute featuring four outstanding European Accordionists. Latvian Ksenija Sidorova, Slovenian Amadej Herzog, Lithuanian Martynas Levickis and Polish Rafal Luc who are all currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music under Professor Owen Murray.
The orchestra first took the stage and warmed up the proceedings with three short pieces, What a Feeling, Pirates of the Caribbean and Western Fantasy. The guest artists each then played two works of a contrasting nature, the first of which was from the classical repertoire and the second being a modern composition. A packed auditorium sat enthralled throughout by the high standard of musicianship they were hearing from these young musicians, who were indeed a credit to the RAM.
